Cody Walker, the brother of Paul Walker, has been rumored to step in for him in “Fast & Furious 7,” but it’s unclear if that will happen as his character Brian O’Conner will be retired in the next film with footage that has already been shot of him.
The film is slated for release in April 2015, Universal Pictures has confirmed several weeks ago.
But a report earlier this week has said the O’Conner character will be “retired” in a respectful manner and wouldn’t be killed, meaning his character will be written out of the popular movie franchise.
Director James Wan and writer Chris Morgan “will tweak the script and add scenes so footage of the late actor’s Brian O’Conner character can still be used — but the franchise can continue,” said the Hollywood Reporter.
Walker died about halfway through production of “Fast and Furious 7” on Nov. 30.
Last month, the Daily Mail reported that Cody Walker, who looks like his brother, could possibly step in to help with the film production, but nothing has materialized since then.
However, Cody hasn’t indicated if he will step in to help finish the movie.
